Remington Wozniak's kite takes 1st place in Colorado

With a kite larger than himself, Remington Wozniak wins a trophy

Former Wicker Park resident Remington Wozniak won first place for the largest kite in the 10 and younger group at the 11th Annual Arvada (Colorado) Kite Festival, Sat. Apr. 13, Robby Ferrufino Park, in front of a crowd of 6,000.

"Mama…mama…mama I WON," shouted 5-year-old Master Remington into the phone. "I couldn't believe that I won a trophy!" The victory came after four hours of trying to keep the kite aloft.

The winds were so up and down that Remi cut his hands as he fought with the 150-pound drag on the line that was staked to the ground.  "The kite was so big that even I would have been dragged away," said his dad.

His awesome victory has garner him a personal invitation to the Fort Collins Kite Festival on April 28. His parents Rebecca Wright and Andrew Wozniak expressed equal delight for his accomplishment.
