Douglas R. Wood

Doug Wood is co-creator and master planner of the Wicker Park gardens. Year-round, he coordinates the maintenance of those gardens as a volunteer. Through the Wicker Park Garden Club, a Park Partner, Doug spearheads events throughout the year that attract many people from beyond the community. Events range from lectures to workshops and activities that focus on green technologies, design and visual arts as part of the gardening experience.

Wicker Park Garden Club’s (WPGC) 2015 Annual Plant Sale on Mother's Day weekend, May 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature vegetable, herbs, flowering annuals, hanging baskets, gift for mom, a special Kids Plant and Grow section, and the Bill Shores workshop, "How to grow vegetables even if you don’t have a yard – Grow Vegetables in Containers." It is a win-win-win-win event for gift givers, moms, gardeners and Wicker Park.
