Buglary Alert for Wicker Park residents in the CPD 14th District


Wicker Park residents are being alerted by the Chicago Police Department's (CPD) 14th District about three burglaries that have occurred since the beginning of the year.

Successful and unsuccessful attempts to break in through the front door in the incidents were:

  • 2300 block of W. Moffat St. on Jan. 9 between 1:10 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.
  • 2300 block of W. North Ave. on Jan. 10 at 2:45 p.m.
  • 1500 block of N. Bell Ave on Jan. 11 between 2:30 and 4 p.m.
There is no information about the offenders.

What you can do

  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Ensure all entry points are secure and locked prior to leaving
  • Report suspicious activity immediately
  • If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
  • Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc...)
  • Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
  • Ensure to have friends and family periodically check on your residence if gone for extended periods of time
  • If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
  • Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
