DUI Patrols will be roving in the 14th District

Drinking while driving can result in a ticket in the 14th Chicago Police District overnight.

Roving officers will saturate the area checking for intoxicated drivers tonight from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sat., Dec. 14.

Officers will be looking for speeding, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection will deploy to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed.

That unit allows officers to expedite the process of charging a person with a DUI prior to transporting an alleged offender into the nearest lockup for bonding.

The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Saturation Patrol.
