Three charged in car hijacking

A 2016 Nissan Altima was identified as committing a minor traffic violation on Jan. 28 in the 9500 block of South Avenue M at approximately 10:37 p.m., Mon., Jan. 28.

As Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers attempted to get them pulled over, the offenders accelerated to get away, abandoning the car in a park. After a brief foot chase, officers took three teens into custody. 

The Nissan had been hijacked from the 2600 block of W. Wabansia Ave. in Logan Square at approximately 7:15 p.m. earlier that evening. 

The offenders are: Terrion Kitchen, 19, 1600 N Wahstenaw; Tracie Kitchen, 18, 2600 W Madison; and Randy Givens, 19, 9000 S Buffalo Ave. Each was charged one Felony count of Vehicular Hijacking.

They are scheduled to appear in court at 2600 block of S. California, Jan. 30 at 9 a.m.
