Some of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame inductees put on a sports clinic for 100 local children Thursday morning, July 12, in Pulaski Park. The event, called Paving the Way, was hosted by Allstate, World Sport Chicago and the USOC, and gave the Olympians the opportunity to share their Olympic experiences and lead coaching drills for the children.

Olympic athletes in attendance included soccer player, Kristine Lilly, decathlete, Dan O’Brien and Paralympian, Jean Driscoll, as well as Jenny Topping, Leah Amico, Lovieanne Jung and Stacey Nuveman Deniz of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Women’s Softball “Real Dream Team.”

These athletes along with Gail Devers, Gary Hall, Jr., Lisa Fernandez, Jenny Thompson, Ed Temple, James Connolly, Ted Stevens and the remaining members of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Women’s Softball team are being inducted in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame presented by Allstate Thursday evening in the Harris Theater in Chicago.
