Arts Guide for Wicker Park and Bucktown: The Cautious Reopening
Along with a very eventful week across the city, nation, and world, the Cautious Reopening of Phase 3 has officially begun in Chicago. As part of that transition, we are moving away from our Week[IN]d Arts Guides and slowly back toward our regular format.
We're all in this together as we move forward! This week we our guide is broken into three sections:
- devoted to reopened businesses and spaces
- places remaining largely closed but still offering online exhibitions and shopping or virtual events
- businesses that are still closed but have ongoing fundraisers and social media presence
So read up to see where you can begin to visit again, ways to still get your art fix from home, and means of continuing to support your local art spaces and venues. Many of these spaces are also offering resources for solidarity and support of current protests as well as ways to get involved and help build community. So check in with your favorite local arts organizations and spaces and see what you can do for them and the community at large.
Please note that the current situation has a lot of businesses adapting quickly. Hours listed here may not be exact and are subject to change at any moment. Please check in with a business before visiting in person and be patient and understanding if hours differ from those here or a space has elected to change their reopening strategy.
And, be sure to always wear a mask in public, in businesses, and while on public ways with others. Wash your hands frequently and remain properly distanced. Always respect a business' customer limit, health practices, and hygiene requirements.
We also suggest visiting the ARTS FOR ILLINOIS website!
