Community Art Project to Benefit Pritzker School
Friends of Pritzker School is excited to present the Fourth Annual Community Art Project: Playthings 2012 to showcase the immense talents of Wicker Park/Bucktown community plus the students and families of A.N. Pritzker School, a Fine Arts Magnet, Chicago Public School.
Join the Pritzker community for a fun-filled evening of music, food, drinks and a unique auction—all proceeds of the event are to benefits arts programs at A. N. Pritzker School. Neighborhood artists, architects and parents, as well as the student body of Pritzker School, have generously donated their energy and talent to design, build and create over 40 unique Playthings to be auctioned off at the May 5, 2012 event.
A Plaything is a toy-like art object that can be played with, an art piece created from toys or an art piece that depicts a toy.
The Playthings up for bid the night of the auction will be displayed in over 20 local retailer windows including Stitch, Red Hen Bakery, Psychobaby, Elevenses and Building Blocks Toys for two weeks leading up to the Auction.
As a staple to the arts and culture community in the Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood, Pritzker School is constantly working to do their part. This event exemplifies Pritzker’s dedication to continue to be a fine arts magnet in the area, working to support arts and culture education. The ticket price to the event includes delicious themed food from FIG Catering, beverages for the evening (including beer, wine, signature cocktail and non alcoholic options) and live music from Red Pop Fury. The mission of Friends of Pritzker School is to raise funds and develop partnerships in support of the academic and extracurricular goals of the school, at the same time raising the profile of the school in the surrounding community and across the city of Chicago. All proceeds from this event will support A.N. Pritzker School.
