Good news, concerns and warnings were all part of the CAPS Beat 1424 meeting, Wed., June 5, in the Wicker Park Field House. Representing the 14th Police District were CAPS Sergeant Felipe Reyes, Officer Chavez and CAPS Community Organizer Liz Rios.

Bank robber hits again in Wicker Park

With at least the fourth robbery to his "credit," this bank robber hit the North Community Bank in Wicker Park on Damen at North and Milwaukee Avenues (1555 N. Damen) at 12:46 p.m., today, June 6.

Reminder: Vehicle stickers expire June 30 and 2014 sales move to a Year-Round Sales

With the intent to have City vehicle sticker expiration dates on a 6-month separation from the State license sticker expiration date, this is the last cycle for the expiration of City and State vehicle stickers on the same day.

While this June 30 is the expiration date for Chicago vehicle stickers and Illinois vehicle license plate stickers, in 2014 the City sticker will renew 6 months from your State license plate sticker.

Do-Division Fest gate take halved by weather

The 7th annual Do-Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale from May 31st thru June 2nd, took a hit in the pocket this year due to the weather. Gate revenues are believed to be about half of last year, according to Kara Salgado, the Executive Director of the West Town Chamber of Commerce, who heads up the event.
