With the release of the long awaited Environmental Assessment for the Ashland Rapid BusTransit (BRT) system, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announce Dec. 10 and 11 as the dates for two public meetings.

Alderman Fioretti encourages residents and businesses to Adopt-a-Family

Alderman Bob Fioretti, 2nd Ward, is reaching out to residents and businesses to make the holidays a little brighter for families in need.

For the "Adopt-a-Family" drive in the 2nd Ward, Fioretti is asking pastors and community leaders to identify families in the 2nd Ward who don't have the financial resources for a very happy holiday.

The 2nd Annual Family Fun Fest in Wicker Park's Field House gymnasium, 1425 N. Damen Ave., was a four-hour high energy event for all members of the families on Sat., Nov. 16. which even included Elmo.

Wicker Park's historic Fountain Court dressed up for the holidays by 80 volunteers

Thanks to the help of 80 volunteers, the Gurgoyle historic fountain and courtyard in Wicker Park, 1425 N. Damen Ave., are wearing their winter finery.

One Earth…Our Earth!" is the theme for the 3rd Annual One Earth Film Festival Mar. 7-9, 2014, which has a submission deadline of Jan. 12, 2014, for videos. Young filmmakers' entries will be divided into four age ranges.
