Three charged in north side robberies

William Sims of Harvey, IL, was charged in four robberies, including the October 5 Mark Gill case at Damen and Concord at 10 p.m. 

In addition, the two other October 5 robberies were in the 3200 block of N. Drake at 9:05 p.m. and the 2900 block of N. Ridgeway at 9:30 p.m. The fourth robbery occurred on October 8, in the 2100 block of W. Schiller at 9 p.m. 

Sims worked with two women, according to the Chicago Police Department. They would approach the victims armed with a handgun, robbing them. 

In the Gill case, Sims fired a pellet gun striking the victim in the left eye before fleeing with the victim’s possessions. 

The two accused female co-offenders with Sims are Tiara Collins, 18, of the 3400 block of W. Belmont and Makiah Burns, 18, of Hazel Crest, Il.

Collins was charged with one count of felony Robbery-Armed-Other Dangerous Weapon on Oct. 15. Burns was charged with one count of felony Robbery-Armed-Other Dangerous Weapon and Attempt-Robbery-Armed-Other Dangerous Weapon on Oct. 10.
