Two Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line trains crashed Monday morning, Sept. 30, at approximately 8 a.m. in Forest Park.

CTA scheduling is disrupted. Trains are operating between Austin and O'Hare only, according to the CTA website.

Shuttle buses are available to provide connecting service through the affected area from Austin to Forest Park until full service is re-established.

Ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Though none of the injuries were considered serious, at least 48 people were taken to 10 hospitals, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

The accident occurred when an out-of-service train was inbound on the same track with an outbound train at the Harlem station.
